Eco-Friendly Standards And Dead-Stock Procedures By CTL

We are not looking at taking any short cuts in our journey towards being a more sustainable fashion industry. We will always keep looking for more sustainable options in production, shipping, sourcing, and planning. This is a responsibility we are more than willing to take.

We have created a collection of linen and bamboo garments complemented with a drawstring bag made from dead-stock from our ethical factories. 

Dead-stock refers to old fabric that hasn’t been able to sell. Maybe there are small damages, perhaps the company who purchased it ordered too much. Maybe they are scraps from factories cutting room floor that are being sewn together and made into something new.

Dead-stock fabrics are the leftover fabrics of other fashion houses who overestimated their needs. Traditionally, brands would hold on to their excess fabrics for a few seasons and then send them to the landfills. We rescue these dead-stock fabrics before they are thrown away, and we turn them into draw sting bags to protect your clothing as a better alternative to the plastic poly bags. These bags can also be used as a second life as makeup holders, clutch bags or perfect for shoes when travelling. 

We rarely found large quantities of any one fabric. Small rolls mean small production runs. Therefore the bag fabric types and colours will vary from style to style.

How is it eco friendly? 

It is eco friendly because this fabric is extra and if it is not rescued by “eco” brands like Cazinc The Label, it will end up in a landfill. Therefore we are doing the world an environmental justice by making “waste” into reusable bags.
